Thanksgiving Greetings from Ann and Jerry

Ann and Jerry wish you a happy, healthy and fun-filled day on Thanksgiving. Hopefully you will be able to get together with family and/or good friends.

Ann and I have so much to be thankful for. Ann summed it up perfectly: our family, each other, our children, our fantastic four grandchildren, Ann's mom who turns 90 next year, Jerry's siblings and their families, for the blessed lives we lead, our fairly good health, our wonderful home and our great and kind neighbors and friends.

Ann and I are especially thankful for our son Jeff who is doing so well as a Border Patrol Agent and our daughter Jen who is happily married to Danny and doing well with her job as a senior investigator.

To all of you who are a part of our lives we say thanks. Ann and Jerry

The Turkey Shot Out of the Oven
By Jack Prelutsky

The turkey shot out of the oven
and rocketed into the air,
it knocked every plate off the table
and partly demolished a chair.

It ricocheted into a corner
and burst with a deadening boom,
then splattered all over the kitchen,
completely obscuring the room.

It stuck to the walls and windows,
it totally coated the floor,
there was turkey attached to the ceiling,
where there'd never been turkey before.

It blanketed every appliance,
it smeared every saucer and bowl,
there wasn't a way I could stop it,
that turkey was out of control.

I scraped and scrubbed with displeasure,
and thought with chagrin as I mopped,
that I'd never again stuff a turkey
with popcorn that hadn't been popped.
